Overview
Essentially, the Clarence Thomas, Ltd. Home Centre’s Retail Manager must manage staff assigned the Store, namely, Floor, Lumberyard, Warehouse, Purchasing and Special Orders Managers and their staff of Sales Associates. Oversee the daily workflow of the store. Schedules and assigns staff to ensure efficient operations and optimal customer experience. Responsibilities include assistance with recruitment and training of staff and conducting of performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. In addition, the Retail Hardware Store Manager handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with policy.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Performs tasks as instructed by Managing Director.
- Trains managers, supervisors, and employees on all overall store operations such as cash register operations, operating equipment, picking, and inventory control.
- Establishes and monitors performance standards for all Floor, Lumberyard, Warehouse, Purchasing and Special Orders Managers and Sales Associate functions.
- Develops and implements strategies to improve customer service and experience on an ongoing basis.
- Ensures a consistent, efficient, pleasant customer experience; resolves any customer service issues, complaints, or requests.
- Continually seeks and identifies methods to increase store sales and profitability; makes recommendations and/or implements changes as appropriate.
- Develops metrics, milestones, and goals for employees; ensures goals are met.
- Collaborates with corporate representatives to develop and implement budgets, sales goals, marketing strategies, and promotions.
- Ensures physical maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and attractiveness of all store facilities.
- Develops and/or implements inventory control and security systems.
