Overview
Clarence Thonmas Ltd. Home Center (CTL) – Virgin Gorda is seeking highly motivated Sales Associate – Cashier/Customer Service to join our team. The Sales Associate – Cashier/Customer Service is generally accountable for providing customers with fast, friendly service, engaging customers throughout the store and check-out process, handling customer funds accurately, while promoting new products.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Specific Accountabilities
- Greets and engages customers in a friendly, courteous, and enthusiastic manner, inviting customers in assigned lane.
- Follows standard check-out process, ensuring fast check-outs.
- Uses Point-of-Sale System (EPICOR) to accurately complete customer transactions.
- Adheres to identification checking requirements in accordance with transaction requirements, and requests proof of payment when handling returns.
- Processes cheques, credit cards, traveler’s cheques, purchase orders, quotations, returns, reconciliations, and charge accounts accurately.
- Processes and promotes CTL Loyalty Program and CTL Gift Cards.
- Protects assets by thoroughly checking inside products, checking for price switches, removing security devises where appropriate.
- Assists with other areas of the store, warehouse, and lumberyard as needed, helps customers on the floor where possible, restocking items correctly and efficiently, ensuring labels are placed accurately.
- Maintains a clean workspace and monitors all entrances and exits, reporting any suspicious activity to the Manager.
- Responsible for the safety and correct handling of all CTL equipment.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
- May be required to perform tasks involving prolonged standing, lifting, carrying or handling of equipment of moderate weight (8-50 pounds).

Required Education Level: High School Diploma / Certificate
Years of Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in a similar environment. One (1) year of experience in retail and customer service
Job Wage (minimum): $10.00 per hour
Probation Period (months): 3
Sick Leave (days): 12
