Clarence Thomas Limited (CTL) Home Center continues to stand out in our community after having received multiple business awards and recognized by the Government of the Virgin Islands for embarking on an employee wellness programme. This month the 50-year-old local retail giant received international recognition in the Newsworthy Magazine published by Orgill, a worldwide distributor in the home improvement industry.
The article titled “Standing Out in the Community” documented the humble beginnings of Clarence Thomas Ltd and its development into CTL Home Center, the main shopping center in the BVI for home construction, maintenance, household and home improvement products.
Commenting on providing quality products and customer service at CTL Home Center, Managing Director, Michael Thomas told Newsworthy Magazine “We try to do a better job [at selecting and] presenting the products and offering more product knowledge at better price points”
Mr. Thomas thanked Orgill for the almost 30-year-old partnership. “Orgill allows us to grow our categories. Before [our partnership], plumbing, tools and hardware were our primary offerings. Working with Orgill allowed us to get further involved in other areas, such as housewares and electrical.” he continued.
CTL Home Center continues to expand its services at the new Fish Bay Superstore on Tortola. The onestop, home shopping center and lumber yard recently opened Bell’s Café, offering customers new menu selections for breakfast and lunch as well as musical entertainment at the Café’s water’s edge. A Scotiabank ATM machine was added on the upper level for customer shopping convenience
